Habit

TWENTY-ONE DAYS
2 CORINTHIANS 5:17
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.

21 days is what it takes to form a new habit, for new neuropathways to fully form in your brain. I’m challenging myself starting July 1st. For 21 days to be the best me I’ can possibly be. My goal is to practice positive thinking, implement some sort of workout plan and do it, read and write more. I challenge you to join me and set a personal challenge for yourself, and stick with it for 21 days. Sometimes it may be hard to commit to something if in your mind there is never an ending. But with setting a goal of 21 days it now seems possible.

negposthoughts

In order to turn the mind toward the positive, some inner work is required, since attitude and thoughts do not change overnight.

1. Read about this subject, think about its benefits, and persuade yourself to try it. The power of your thoughts is a mighty power that is always shaping your life. This shaping is usually done subconsciously, but it is possible to make the process a conscious one. Even if the idea seems strange, give it a try. You have nothing to lose, but only to gain.

2. Ignore what other people say or think about you, if they discover that you are changing the way you think.

3. Use your imagination to visualize only favorable and beneficial situations.

4. Use positive words in your inner dialogues, or when talking with others.

5. Smile a little more, as this helps to think positively.

6. Once a negative thought enters your mind, you have to be aware of it, and endeavor to replace it with a constructive one. If the negative thought returns, replace it again with a positive one. It is as if there are two pictures in front of you, and you have to choose to look at one of them, and disregard the other. Persistence will eventually teach your mind to think positively, and to ignore negative thoughts.

7. In case you experience inner resistance and difficulties when replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, do not give up, but keep looking only at the beneficial, good and happy thoughts in your mind.

8. It doesn’t matter what your circumstances are at the present moment. Think positively, expect only favorable results and situations, and circumstances will change accordingly. If you persevere, you will transform the way your mind thinks. It might take some time for the changes to take place, but eventually they will.

Today’s Devotional

Ephesians 6:5–9
Good morning I really became inspired by today’s devotional and felt moved to share be well!!!!!
Source: The Daily Bread

Obey [your earthly masters] . . . as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.Ephesians 6:6

“I’m a secretary,” a friend told me. “When I tell people this, they sometimes look at me with a certain pity. But when they find out who I am secretary for, they open their eyes with admiration!” In other words, society often defines some jobs as less important than others, unless those jobs happen to relate in some way to rich or famous people.

For the child of God, however, any occupation, regardless of the earthly boss, can be held proudly because we serve the Lord Jesus.

In Ephesians 6, Paul talks to servants and masters. He reminds both groups that we serve one Master who is in heaven. So we need to do everything with sincerity of heart, integrity, and respect because we are serving and working for Christ Himself. As the apostle Paul reminds us, “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people” (Eph. 6:7).

What a privilege to serve God in everything we do, whether answering a phone or driving a car or doing housework or running a business. Let us work with a smile today, remembering that no matter what we are doing, we are serving God.

Lord Jesus, I want to serve You in everything I do. Help me, as I begin each day, to remember this.

Serving shows our love for God.

The Work

Proverbs 23:7King James Version (KJV)
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

These are some things I remind myself to work on daily. We all have to work to become the person we want to be it may not be easy but it is worth it!

doubt

Doubting yourself
Deep down your self-esteem is there. Fight the demons of self-doubt and embrace your recovery work. Believing in yourself when it seems no one else believes in you is a challenge you can overcome. Don’t wait for someone else to praise you and bring you red roses. Give it to yourself when you earn it. It is possible to pat yourself on the back. God did not design us to kick ourselves in the butt. Try it…it’s physically impossible to do.

Negative thinking
The good news is that persistent inner work can change habits of thinking. You must be willing to put energy and time to pursue positive thinking, in order to change your mental attitude.

fear-of-failure

Fear of Failure
Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of small steps in the right direction; by the time you get there you’ll be more ready to be where you are.

criticism

Criticizing yourself and others
Generally, our judgment of others is an extension of self-judgment; and the self-judgment is so ingrained, so normal, we don’t even recognize it.

negative-self-talk

Negative Self Talk
Excessive self-criticism tends to backfire, because it leads us to focus on our so-called failures instead of the “small ways that we could have improved

stop-procrastinating-3.jpg

Procrastination-Anxiety
The key to controlling this destructive habit is to recognize when you start procrastinating, understand why it happens (even to the best of us), and take active steps to manage your time and outcomes better.

th

Fear of Success
Fear of success is similar to fear of failure they have many of the same symptoms, and both fears hold you back from achieving your dreams and goals.

People Pleasing
It’s possible to change and find our voice, our power, and our passion. It requires getting reacquainted with that self we’ve hidden, discovering our feelings and needs, and risking asserting and acting on them. It’s a process of raising our sense of self-worth and self-esteem and healing the shame we may not even know that we carry, but it’s a worthy adventure of self-reclamation!

Allow yourself to dream,
And when you do dream big

Allow yourself to learn
And when you do learn all you can

Allow yourself to laugh
And when you do share your laughter

Allow yourself to set goals
And when you do reward yourself as you move forward

Allow yourself to be determined
And when you do you will find you will succeed

Allow yourself to believe in yourself
And when you do you will find self confidence

Allow yourself to lend a helping hand
And when you do a hand will help you.

Allow yourself relaxation
And when you do you will find new ideas.

Allow yourself love
And when you do you will find love in return

Allow yourself to be happy
And when you do you will influence others around you.

Allow yourself to be positive
And when you do life will get easier.
